Mansion Mayhem v. 3.3: Halloween Update & Event

Welcome to the Bone Zone

Spooky season is upon us, Survivors! That means it is time for another update & seasonal event. For this terrifying update, we’re introducing FOUR brand-new Spruce Forest maps, Bone Zone, Sambucus, Opposom Outpost, & Plant Penitentiary. When testing, these were all insanely fun and we hope you enjoy playing them just as much as we did making them.

Bone Zone (Large)

The Plant Penitentiary (Medium)

Opossum Outpost (Small) (The O is not silent)

Sambucus (Small)

General Changes

General Game Changes

  • Players are no longer immediately teleported back to the hub after a game ends.
  • Fixed some map bugs & door issues.

Fall Damage

  • Fall damage reduction changed to 25% (was 15%).

Killer Damage

When a Survivor is being chased by the Killer, it can be quite difficult to escape. This is especially true if the Survivor is on low health and can’t catch a break. This new feature should balance things out and give the Survivors a bit of an edge in one-on-one combat with the Killer.

  • Survivors now take less damage from behind.
    • Killers attack Survivor backs will deal 80% of the normal damage they’d normally deal.
    • Survivors may turn to their backs at any time to reduce incoming damage!

Survivor Powers

Survivor Party

Party’s been out of the game for quite a while now, but we’re glad to bring it back into the game with all-new functionality. It’s also not buggy (hopefully).

  • Standing near 1 or more Survivors will place you in a party. Partygoers move 60% faster and never go hungry. However, when a Killer enters the party, everything is ruined. The speed boost is reduced to 15% and all Survivors get hunger! This is a “double edged sword” style Power, so use it wisely!
    • 3 uses
    • 55s Cooldown

Killer Glue

  • Duration reduced to 5s (was 6s)

Undying Survivors

  • Duration increased to 12s (was 6s).

Painful Airtime

  • Duration increased to 3.5s (was 2s)

Killer Blindness

  • Duration reduced to 8s (was 10s)
  • Movement speed increased to 15% (was 10%)

Killer Stun

We feel like Killer Stun’s been slept on for quite a while, and it’s about time for it to get some love.

  • Duration increased to 3s (was 1.5s)

Killer & Survivor Cripple

The Cripples are just outclassed by the Slows. Their effects are just not as compelling as we initially thought. We’re going to turn up the heat on these guys & see if their use cases increase.

Survivor Cripple

  • 25% slower -> 30% slower

Killer Powers

Killer Cripple

  • 25% slower -> 30% slower
  • 25% less dmg -> 30% less dmg

Sneaky Killers

We just wanted to tone this Power’s buffs down a bit. It was just too much.

  • Duration reduced to 16s (was 20s).
  • Speed increase reduced to 40% (was 55%).

Painful Airtime

  • Duration increased to 3.5s (was 2s)

Survivor Glue

Glue has always seemed to be the most prevalant power to use when choosing between stun. While niche, it seems way too strong for its purpose. We’re going to tone it down a bit to be more like a “stun-style” Power.

  • Duration reduced to 3s (was 6s)

Survivor Blindness

  • Duration reduced to 6s (was 8s)
  • Movement speed increased to 15% (was 10%)

Damage Boost

  • Duration reduced to 16s (was 20s).
  • Hitting survivors temporarily boosts your movement speed.
  • For curious minds, here is the formula that determines movement speed:
    • (Initial Damage Dealt)(3.3) per hit for 5 seconds.
    • Speed boosts can stack; individual timers for each hit.

The Future

Mansion Mayhem will continue to get regular updates similar to this every now & then. Expect another update around late December. Again, we appreciate the players who decide to show up & play our humble game; it means the world to us! We also might start working on a new game outside of Minecraft which is cool…so stay tuned for that.
