Mansion Mayhem V. 3.1 & Final Update Event

Welcome back Survivors & Killers…it is time for the “final update” for Mansion Mayhem. This could be confusing for some, so we want to clear it for you.

MM started out as a small hide & seek game on a private server in 2017; made with command blocks, it was very limited. We decided to branch out to making our own MM Plug-in. This opened up a whole new world of possibilities and allowed us to make the amazing game we have today. Unfortunately, current times with us moving on to college simply cannot allow the continued production of Mansion Mayhem Minecraft Edition. It is a bittersweet ending to such an amazing journey, but we all must move on eventually.

Now, does this truly mean the “end of life” for Mansion Mayhem? As for the Minecraft version, partly. Some very minor balance changes/bug fixes will release occasionally, but no new content (Powers/Maps/Game Modes) will be added. The servers will remain on as long as possible so anyone can enjoy MM at their leisure.

What does the future hold for Mansion Mayhem? We are currently looking into coding the game from the ground up in a separate game engine! Experience MM like never before as you explore new maps, powerups, & more. This “MM THE GAME” will be releasing some time in the far future; there is no definite date.

Now, with that out of the way, let’s head into the new content for 3.1 🙂

Game modes are new optional features that can be applied to a game. While selecting a Mansion size, toggle the game mode button on the top right of the chest screen. As of right now, game modes must be selected by an admin.

Game modes will update to this version in a later hotfix update: The game modes cycle hourly so there’s always something new to play! Game modes can also be stacked twice…this means that sometimes, you can get a COMBO game where 2 game modes are active at once (some game modes are not compatible w/ others).

Infection

Currently Infection is not working how we want it to. It will be added in a later hotfix update.

Old School

Play Mansion Mayhem like how it was when it was first created! No Powers! All survivors get blindness. Powers are replaced with 1 “Last Chance” potion & 3 “get away from the killer” potions. Killers get the standard “Killer potion” effects given to them.

Mega Powers

Let’s ramp up how powers work! All powers have their durations increased by 2s. All potion effects are amplified by 2 levels. All cooldowns are reduced by 10 seconds. All potency of Powers used is increased by 50%.

Random Powers

Leave it to luck! Power selection is skipped! Random Powers will be selected for both teams.

Insta-Kill

Killers will always kill Survivors in one shot. Damage reduction Powers can help, but they can’t save you. Hide!

All Killers

Something happened in the buggy code…looks like there can only one Survivor at a time. That leaves them and a horde of bloodthirsty Killers!

Speedy

In a hurry? No need to worry! Only 3 seconds of hide time! No initial Power cooldown! All players move 10% faster for the duration of the game. All maps have reduced seek time.

“NEW” Maps from the original command block version of MM added!

  • Mansion 1, Medium
  • Mansion 3, Large
  • Mansion 5, Small
  • Mansion 6, Medium
  • Mansion 7, Large
  • Mansion 10, Huge
The Classic Maps
  • New music!
  • When a mansion is selected, you will now see the name of the map instead of the mansion size!
  • NEW Spruce Forest Medium Map: The Pepo!
  • Changed The Radican to a large map from a medium one.
  • When on low health, your screen turns red and a heart beat sfx plays. In testing, this makes trying to escape the Killer’s grasp wayyy more intense! Make sure you have the music client open to hear the sound fx.
New Medium Map: The Pepo!

Brick City Changes

Brick City got a huge overhaul this update. It features a whopping 8 new maps and new music! Many patch notes are listed below regarding Brick City.

  • Removed “The Campsite” Brick Coast map.
  • The Apartments map changed from Small to Medium.

New Medium Map: Subway
New Large Map: Seaside Mansion
New Large Map: Killer Manor
New Huge Map: The Grand Hotel

Game Changes

Some Powers were removed in this update. More information on the ones below. Also, lots of behind-the-scenes game changes happened too!

  • Survivor Revive
At first Revive had a lot of potential. We loved using this power to “sauce” each other revives and whatnot. However, while the power is very fun to play with, its concept throws the idea of balance out the window. We want MM to be a balanced game, especially regarding Powers. With that said, Survivor Revive has been removed from all Power rosters. In its place, we added Killer Haunt. More on this power below!
  • Longer Powers, Cooldown Cut, & Power Amplifer (Survivor & Killer variants)
The classic interference Power trio is being cut from the game. Over the past 2 years, these Powers have never been really good. In betas we’ve tried buffing them but no matter how much better we made them they simply just do not compare to the other interference Powers. In its place, however; we’re adding “Super Powers”. This is a new power that combines the abilities of all three of the cut Powers! More on this below.
  • Pumpkin Pie
Now gives 1.6 more saturation. This improves the pie food item.
  • The Institution
Removed some hiding spots + opened up some rooms. This was done to make the map smaller.
  • The Radican (Large)
    Minor map changes.
    Finished some incomplete rooms.
Updated the security office emergency button. Now activates Killer Repel! Note that anyone can use this, including Killers.
  • Game Timers
Reduced hide time to 30s (was 45s).
Increased Power selection time to 45s.
Decreased Mansion selection time to 8s.
  • Killers
Killers received a change on how many Killers are chosen in a game.
Map size now affects Killer count. Smaller maps have less Killers & larger maps have more Killers.
Killers need to kill MORE THAN HALF of the Survivor team to win now.
  • Power Descriptions
Power descriptions now fit comfortably on the screen now. No more cut-offs!
  • All maps now have respective names for easier calling.
All current maps in the game as of v. 3.1 excluding the legacy ones.
This is on vanilla Minecraft! Notice how you can read the description correctly now! Horray for awesome code!
